For details on specific\nitems\, check the website at airworksauction.com. \nHistory of the Air Works Consignment Auction\nAir Works Consignment Auction was founded by Reuben Troyer who owned the Air Works store along Route 250\, near\nApple Creek\, Ohio\, where he sold and repaired small engines and turned gas motorized pieces into pneumatic\nequipment which made it more suitable and accepted for conservative Amish groups. \nAuctions run deep in the Troyer family. That legacy began in 1948\, when Reuben’s father\, Eli Troyer took a job at\nthe Kidron Livestock Auction\, clerking sales and spending one or two days a week in the auction world. His sons\ngrew up immersed in that environment\, laying the foundation for what was to come. \nMore than 30 years later\, Reuben Troyer sought a way to sell quality\, well-maintained rental equipment from his\ngrowing Air Works business east of Apple Creek. Staying true to the Troyer spirit\, he turned to the auction\nprocess. The Air Works Consignment Auction was born with the first sale held in 1990 alongside Auctioneer Steve\nAndrews at a neighboring farm. \nAs the auction grew\, so did its needs. After three years\, the sale moved to the Kidron Auction grounds\, where it\nthrived for more than two decades. The partnership provided a dependable\, well-equipped location that supported\ncontinued growth—no matter the weather. \nIn 2015\, the expanding sale moved to Mt. Hope to accommodate increased volume and more indoor selling space. The\nnew location allows the auction to begin on Thursday and conclude by mid-afternoon Saturday\, giving buyers more\nflexibility and reducing weather-related delays during unloading week. \nReflections from the Founder\nAs Reuben Troyer\, founder of the event\, reminisces and reviews the dynamics and experiences of the past 37 years\nof the Air Works Consignment Auction\, he simply says\, \n“We are blessed many times over.” \n“I am not the most organized fellow\, but the chaos and energy that comes with an auction—it’s who I\nam—and it makes me come alive.” \nWith the continued growth of the Auction\, Reuben and different ones of his children have taken various\nresponsibilities over the years. \n“I feel extremely grateful that our family is intimately involved\, as well as\, the many friendships that\nhave come through the auction. It’s truly incredible to experience\,” said Troyer. “I wish I would have a whole\nweek the night before the auction to talk to all the people who attend.” \nTransition to a Family-Owned Corporate Structure\nOver the past several years\, the Troyer family has been in conversation about transitioning the business from a\nfounder-led operation to a family-owned corporate structure. That process formally began as the family sought a\nlong-term framework that would provide clarity\, stability\, and continuity for future generations. Valuable\nguidance throughout this transition came from the Anabaptist Financial Business Advisory team\, whose support\nhelped shape the structure and direction of the company. \nAs a result\, Air Works Auction Company was formed\, bringing together Reuben and Mattie Troyer along with most of\ntheir children. In August 2025\, John Wengerd\, formerly with Flextur of Dalton\, Ohio\, was hired as CEO\, allowing\nthe company to move forward with experienced leadership. This also enables the Troyer family to focus on\ngovernance\, strategy\, and growth opportunities under the new parent company structure. \nNew Business Services\nWith the added leadership the newly formed Air Works Auction Company continues to offer business liquidations and\ndispersals. Since this transition the Auction Company also offers agent services for reselling turn key\nindustrial businesses. Since August\, two turnkey businesses have been sold\, and the one company listed and\navailable as of this writing is Daystar Lighting Systems. SUMMARY:LifeCare Hospice Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:A Haystack Supper and Benefit Auction will be held Friday\, May 16\, 2025 at the Mt. Hope Event Center\, 8076 State Route 241\, Millersburg\, be benefit Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare’s Amish Care Fund. \nThe Amish Care Fund is supported by donations from Amish churches and fundraisers to help Amish and Plain Church patients who do not have Medicare\, Medicaid or other insurance that covers hospice services. \nCarryout for the event begins at 3:30 p.m.\, supper begins at 4 p.m. and the live auction is at 5:30 p.m. The supper cost is a donation. \nAttendees can build their own plates with crushed crackers\, rice\, taco-seasoned ground beef\, shredded cheddar cheese\, lettuce\, tomato\, onions and green peppers topped with warm cheese sauce\, sour cream\, taco sauce\, sweet and sour dressing and crushed nacho cheese flavored tortilla chips. Desserts are brownies and soft-serve ice cream. Coffee\, water and a variety of pop will be available. \nSteve Chupp Auctions is providing the auctioneer. The auction will include indoor and outdoor furniture\, quilts\, yard tools\, baked goods\, power tools\, flowers and more.
